Our Story
We met years ago in the Tasmanian Health Service Audiology Department and quickly discovered we shared more than just a love for audiology—we also bonded over board games, coffee, donuts, and a belief that patient care should always be practical and patient-driven.
Over the next decade, we worked together in the Public Tasmanian Cochlear Implant Program, ENT clinics, Paediatric Audiology, and the Tasmanian Infant Hearing Screening Programme, adding to experience we’d already gained in interstate public and private clinics.
We missed working alongside each other and in 2025 and decided to again join forces - becoming joint directors of Tasman Audiology Pty Ltd, and hope to provide a quality service to lutruwita/Tasmania outside of the constraints of the public sector.
Between us we’ve got six cheeky kids (four for Gill and John the tradie, two for Damian and Felicity the teacher), who keep us laughing and slightly sleep-deprived, and we’ve learned to balance family chaos with professional passion.
We’re not great at self-promotion (and don’t particularly like it), but we are proud of our values: ethics, compassion, and excellence in clinical audiology using evidence-based care. When we’re not helping people hear better, you’ll probably find us battling it out over a strategic board game—though whether Gill or Damian usually wins… well, we’ll let you decide who’s telling the truth.
