Hearing Implant Candidacy Assessment
A hearing implant candidacy assessment involves investigations to see if someone would improve their hearing with a cochlear or bone conduction implant, and that it is likely to be safe and effective for achieving their listening goals.

This service is currently available in Hobart and Launceston. A GP referral is required for Medicare rebate.
Diagnostic Hearing Assessment (Child 3+ years)
A diagnostic hearing test for children aged 3+ checks how well they hear speech and different sounds through games and listening activities. Gill and Damian draw on their lived experience supporting neurodiverse and anxious children to achieve the best results possible with the least upset.

Hearing Aid Trial
(2-3 weeks)
Damian and Gill are independent Audiologists and not bound to a particular hearing aid manufacturer. They provide a variety of hearing aid options, guiding patients to make an informed choice about which devices might best suit their needs. At Tasman Audiology we will never do spam, sales calls, or pushy marketing — just genuine communication about your hearing care when you need it, as guided by you.

This service is available in Hobart. No referral is required if a hearing assessment has already been performed recently.
Custom Hearing & Ear Protection
Damian and Gill fit GN Resound custom ear and hearing protection. GN Resound offers custom hearing protection tailored to individual ears and needs. Options include musician's plugs, noise-blocking earplugs (work or sleep), and swim plugs, providing comfortable, effective protection without compromising sound quality or daily comfort.
Hearing Implant Mapping/Adjustment
Gill and Damian have decades of experience in helping people adjust to their hearing implants and maintain their speech processors (we are able to adjust both Cochlear and Bone Conduction Implants).
This service is generally Bulk Billed through Medicare. No referral is necessary. This service is available in Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport.
Diagnostic Hearing Assessment (Adult)
During a diagnostic hearing test, we perform detailed assessment of hearing thresholds, speech understanding, and ear health. Gill and Damian focus on your listening goals, providing tailored rehabilitation options to improve communication and your quality of life. They can recommend further assessments or medical referrals if needed.

Ear Wax Micro-suction
Ear wax microsuction is a gentle, precise method of removing ear wax using a small suction device under direct visual guidance. It is safer and typically less uncomfortable than traditional ear syringing, reducing the risk of injury while effectively clearing the ear canal.
This service is available in Hobart or by appointment with Gill at your home or business. No referral is required.
Tinnitus Management Consultation
Gill and Damian provide tinnitus management consultations, helping clients understand their tinnitus and offering personalised strategies, therapies, and sound options to reduce its impact and improve daily comfort and communication.
